Movement and Yoga Therapy in Dallas, Texas

Yoga and Somatic Therapy in Dallas, Texas

Yoga & Dance Movement Therapy is an experiential approach that combines trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, mindfulness, and expressive movement to help you access healing beyond words. Many experiences—including stress, anxiety, trauma, grief, and burnout—are held not only in the mind, but also within the body. Through intentional movement and breath, you can begin to release tension, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself in a safe, supportive environment.

Sessions may include gentle yoga, guided breathwork, body awareness exercises, grounding techniques, music, creative movement, and opportunities for reflection. No dance experience or yoga background is required. The focus is not on performance or fitness, but on cultivating greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper connection between mind and body.

What is used for?

Benefits Participants often report: Reduced anxiety and stress Improved emotional regulation Greater body awareness and self-compassion Increased confidence and self-expression Improved mindfulness and present-moment awareness Enhanced resilience and nervous system regulation A renewed sense of joy, creativity, and vitality At Sauna Therapy, our Yoga & Dance Movement Therapy groups are grounded in neuroscience, somatic psychology, and evidence-based trauma treatment. Every session is designed to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where healing can unfold through movement, breath, and connection.

What can movement therapy be used for?

Research has also shown it be effective in treatment of substance use disorders, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders in both adults and adolescents.8 Given the often comorbid psychiatric symptoms with BPD in patients participating in DBT, psychopharmacological interventions are oftentimes considered appropriate adjunctive care. This article aims to outline the basic principles of DBT as well as comment on the role of pharmacotherapy as adjunctive treatment for the symptoms of BPD.

How Does it Work?

Movement therapy is a place through healing trauma, depression and other forms of mental distress through mental emotional processing and physical movement. Our individual sessions emphasize healthy aging, distress tolerance, somatic experiencing and healing.

dance or yoga?

You can choose between both a dance session or a yoga therapy session. The benefits of both dance and yoga have been connected to healthy aging, chronic pain, injury and surgical recovery and other forms of services.
